After many years of creative work, translation, editing, and publishing books with a genuine passion for the Warhammer universes, the publisher announced the end of its collaboration with Games Workshop – the British company that owns and created the popular Warhammer franchise. Games Workshop unexpectedly decided not to renew the licensing agreement with the publisher, which came as a surprise to the team.
“This took us completely by surprise. Saying we’re shocked doesn’t even begin to cover it. For us, this was more than just a license. It was a community, readers, and a deep passion for the work and the books we published. We did everything we could to influence the situation, but we weren’t heard. Like you, we are fans of the universes with the same feelings – surprised, upset, and distressed. Unfortunately, we cannot change the rights holders’ decision,” the publisher said. Despite all efforts to affect the outcome, the decision remained unchanged.

In this regard, all available Warhammer books are on sale with a 30% discount until 14 January.
So, what can readers do:
The simplest way to help is to send polite but persistent emails to Games Workshop’s official address: [email protected]. It’s also useful to leave comments under posts on @warhammerofficial on Instagram or Facebook, since the company is not active on Twitter.
- In your messages, you can ask straightforward questions like “Why?” request explanations, or express your disappointment. It’s important to keep the tone respectful – these emails are read by regular staff who forward them up the chain.
- Additionally, you can support the publisher by sending words of thanks or purchasing a few books if you were previously hesitant. This kind of support might influence Games Workshop’s decision.
- If you are active on English-speaking social media or Reddit, consider sharing information about the situation to raise awareness of this decision.
- It’s not advisable to direct complaints to the authors at Black Library, as they are not responsible for the decisions. Instead, all inquiries should be sent to [email protected].

The publisher thanked all fans for their support and shared journey through the worlds of eternal war, assuring that despite the end of this project, work on new challenges continues.
