Warhammer 40K: Space Wolves Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown

July 23, 2025

So now that the Space Wolves Combat Patrol has been officially confirmed to be on the way let’s talk pricing breakdowns!

At the start of the month I called out GW for teasing the Space Wolves Combat Patrol but not giving us a release window for it. Well, they have since shown it off once again and also alluded that it’s on the way still. But now we’ve also had the Space Wolves wave released so we have pricing for the contents. Now we’re going to dive into the math and find out what sort of a deal we’re getting.

Space Wolves Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown

Contents

5x Wolf Guard Terminators $65

10x Blood Claws $62.50

Wolf Guard Battle Leader $42

5x Wulfen $62.50

Total Individual MSRP: $232

Total Estimated Savings: $62

Overall, it’s a nice chunk of savings. That’s based on the price point for the current Combat Patrols of $170. You’re basically getting the Blood Claws or the Wulfen tossed in for buying the other units included. And considering the Wulfen are currently out of stock online this box means it’s one of the few places you’ll be able to get them. When this goes up for sale that is.

Peat, Repeat, or No Peat?

The fact that this kit doesn’t really have any “unique” characters is a plus in my book. Sure, it’s got a Wolf Guard Battle Leader so maybe you don’t want to run two of them. Then again, a second box would allow you to run a full 10-man squad of Wulfen. And a 10-man squad of Wolf Guard Terminators. And a 20-man pack of Blood Claws is a LOT of bodies. So maybe a second box is a good idea in this case. I’d call this one a Repeat — but only if you’re new to Space Wolves.

From there I’m going to assume you’ve got your hands on the Space Wolves codex. If not, you really should snag that next. Take a closer look at the Detachment rules. Those are really going to determine how you proceed from there. Goatboy has tossed out a list idea or two. If you really want to go with a character heavy list, I’d probably skip out on the second Combat Patrol box and spend that money on the sweet new Character models like Logan and Arjac.

Shoot…I don’t even play Space Wolves and I’m tempted to get that Logan Grimnar just cause he’s looks awesome. Anyhow, this Combat Patrol looks solid. I’m not a huge fan of the Wulfen or I’d be praising this one more. It’s a good deal based on GW’s pricing. Plus it’s got it’s own Combat Patrol rules for that mode of the game. It doesn’t box you in for a specific build either so you can grow your army how you want. Seems like a winner to me.

Now, if we could just get a pre-order date…
