The Legacies PDF is coming but it’s apparently hit a slight warp storm and is being delayed for the Horus Heresy.
There was a lot of hub-bub about the units that weren’t included in the Liber series. And that’s understandable. But Games Workshop has been pretty upfront that support for many of those units are coming. They were hoping to have the Digital Download out in PDF form by July. Well, it’s August now and they know that, too. There’s been a “slight delay.”
“We know lots of you are eager to get your hands on the Legacies of the Age of Darkness PDF. We’d hoped to have this with you by the end of July, but there’s a small delay. Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten! We’re expecting the document to be live next week. Thanks for your patience.”
Legacies of the Age of Darkness Delay
Again, it’s not everything but it’s a LOT of units. There’s a WarCom Article that has the full list and it’s a long one. There’s 23 units just for the standard Legiones Astartes. There’s dozens more units for other specific legions as well as the Mechanicum and Solar Auxilia. It’s a pretty comprehensive document! Which is likely why there’s been a delay. Here’s a look at just the Solar Auxilia as an example:

When you’ve got this many units in one document you probably want to make sure they are good to go before you release it. That goes double for this PDF in particular because these rules are going to be allowed in Official Games Workshop events.
So are we disappointed the document didn’t come out on the 26th of July. Yeah. But 1) GW is letting us know there’s been a delay and 2) I’d rather them get it right than release something in error that could impact tournaments or events negatively. The Legacies of the Age of Darkness PDF is still on the way. Let’s just hope it gets here in good order — preferably sooner.
