Publisher Deep Silver and developer KING Art Games have announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV for PC during gamescom 2025. The real-time strategy game will launch in 2026 and will be available on Steam. Dawn of War IV returns to the classic gameplay style that made the series popular. Players will command four different Warhammer 40,000 factions in strategic battles. The game brings back the base-building and squad management that fans remember from earlier games in the series.
The game features four unique factions for players to control:
- Space Marines
- Orks
- Necrons
- Adeptus Mechanicus (making their first appearance in the Dawn of War series)
Each faction has its own commanders, units, buildings, and special gameplay features that change how battles play out. Dawn of War IV includes over 70 campaign missions, making it the biggest Dawn of War story so far. Black Library author John French helped write the campaign. Players can play through the story alone or with friends in co-op mode. Each faction gets its own campaign with CGI videos and animated cutscenes.

The combat system focuses on the brutal fighting style of Warhammer 40,000. Players can build bases, grow their armies, and customize their squads. The game includes an improved Sync Kill system that shows detailed close-combat fighting between units. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will be available on Steam when it launches in 2026.
