How To Use Console Commands In Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War

August 22, 2025

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Definitive Edition brings back the fan-favorite RTS game with updated visuals and better stability. All of the game’s classic features are present, from glory kills to the game’s extensive modding scene. One feature that returns in the definitive edition is the console, a way for players to modify the game to help troubleshoot issues.

There aren’t many console command options in Dawn of War, but what’s present can prove useful if your mission bugs out or if you want to experiment with build orders in skirmish. Today, we’ll be giving a brief overview of how the console works in Dawn of War, covering how to access it and showcasing some of the most useful console commands you can use during a match.

How To Access The Console

Dawn of War Console

To access the console menu during a match, press Ctrl + Shift + ~ in one keystroke. Holding all three buttons will open up the console log on the top of your screen, allowing you to input commands by typing into the console. To exit this menu, press the same keystroke again.

While in this console, you can enter a handful of useful commands to adjust the game state or help debug issues with the current match. One common use of the console is the statgraph_channel(“fps”) command, as this will display a graph that will showcase your current frames per second (FPS) and frame times. Bear in mind, you must have preceded this command with the statgraph command to get the FPS chart to appear.

Some console commands are flagged as cheats, allowing you to spawn resources for free or reveal the entire map in an instant. These commands are not usable in skirmish or multiplayer matches unless the “Enable Cheats” rule is enabled. Cheats are usable in the campaign by default.
