The Assault Terminators are back with a new kit to up-scale them with the rest of the newer Terminators in Warhammer 40,000!
If you’re a fan of Terminator Armor then you’ll be glad to see the new announcement from Games Workshop. Assault Terminators are returning to the front lines with a up-sized kit. You’ll be able to build either classic configuration of Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield or Lightning Claws with the updated kit.
“Here’s an uncontroversial opinion for you: power fists are awesome. They’re a mainstay of the classic Terminator package, tried and tested for more than 10,000 years – but sometimes, smushing people in your giant, crackling hand isn’t quite enough. Maybe it’s a little overkill, and you’d rather have the ability to strike faster. Maybe it’s a little underkill, and you need something that’ll break through those extra-thick skulls.”
Assault Terminators Return
First up we have the updated Thunder Hammer Storm Shield versions. I don’t think these need much explaining as I’m sure everyone is familiar with this classic. Their Storm Shields give these behemoths an additional wound these days as well so they have even more staying power.
And just as iconic are the Lightning Claw versions. While they aren’t quite as tanky or as smashy, they pack a LOT of deadly swipes in is configuration. If you need to clear out hordes of enemies quickly, the Lightning Claws are a great option to do just that.
“Each squad of five miniatures comes with six unhelmeted heads, five helmets, five tilting plates with unique designs, and 15 additional accessories split between purity seals, Oaths of Moment, and other small badges. The sergeant also gets their own choice of two heads, a special storm shield variant, and two more tilting plates with fancier adornments.”
More Terminators Inbound
Also slated for a new release is an updated Chapter Ancient in Terminator Armor. Packing all the benefits of an Ancient but now in Terminator Armor, you’ve got one heck of a banner-bearer!
Your first crack at all these new updates for the Terminators will be in a new Battleforce box coming soon:
This is the upcoming Crux Terminatus Battleforce. As you can see, it’s loaded with 15 Terminators (10 Assault Terminators and 5 standard Terminators), an Ancient in Terminator Armor, a Chaplain in Terminator Armor, and a Captain in Terminator Armor! That’s a whole lot of Terminators in a single box!
In addition to all those Terminators, you also get a new Transfer Sheet designed specifically for the Terminators in your collection. That is a LOT of goodies for fans of Terminator Armor. I think I’m starting to see a pattern. Maybe that’s why we got a new Calgar miniature?
