Age of Sigmar: The New Battlescroll Is Now Available For Download

September 24, 2025

There’s a new Battlescroll out for Age of Sigmar and it’s dropping ahead of the World Champions of Warhammer!

Games Workshop has released a new Battlescroll aka Balance Update for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. We’ve got points updates, rules tweaks, and clarifications to tackle. So let’s dive in!

via Warhammer Community

“The Blades of Khorne, Idoneth Deepkin, Kharadron Overlords, Flesh-eater Courts, and Nighthaunt have been visiting ruin and destruction upon their enemies in the Mortal Realms, but the Codewrights have noticed one or two minor discrepancies in the rules of battle, so it’s once again time for a Battlescroll to balance things out.”

There’s quite a bit to cover with this latest round of updates. First up, both the Nighthaunt got a new supplemental download. This adds back a few units that were not included in their battletomes. With the supplemental these units are once again valid for Matched Play and Tournaments until June 1, 2026. It’s worth noting that the WarCom article mentions a Blades of Khorne Battletome Supplement, but I did not see a direct link with that update on their website at the time of writing.

The next two updates are for the Rules and the Battle Profiles (aka the points). The rules updates are really just more errata and clarifications. They are worth a look just for that reason. Same with the points. There are many points changes in total, but most armies just got a handful of point tweaks. Again, it’s worth double checking your army’s respective points to see if your list has been directly impacted.

As for more direct impacts, there are three in particular that GW called out.

  • ” The biggest balance change affects the Scourge of Ghyran version of Pontifex Zenestra, Matriarch of the Great Wheel, as some new restrictions for the Salvation effect of Sigmar’s Will stops the zealous preacher from scooping her own units out of combat and popping them far away from her opponent.”
  • “The Kharadron Overlords have also seen changes to Skyvessel Cover, which no longer works when a vessel charges. The Assault Boat rule for Arkanaut Frigates only lets one unit Strike-first, and the Celestium Burst Grenade is only once per battle.”
  • “The Skulls for the Skull Throne ability for Blades of Khorne has also been changed to Once Per Turn (Army), rather than Once Per Battle Round.”

Again, there are more minor changes but those are pretty important for those armies. On top of those changes, there’s also a the addition of the Helsmiths of Hashut. There are points for them as well as rules for Spearhead and Regiments of Renown. However, they aren’t technically legal for Matched/Tournament Play until their battletome is released in the coming weeks.

Overall, this is relatively minor for most armies. The exceptions are obviously the Cities of Sigmar, Kharadron Overlords, and the Blade of Khorne. The Nighthaunt getting back a few missing units is nice, too. Be sure to check out the points for your army to make sure you’re up to date on those. You don’t want to overspend or underspend on your points.
