Warhammer 40K: Death Korps of Krieg Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown

September 24, 2025

The Death Korps of Krieg are getting a new Combat Patrol box. Let’s take a closer look to see if this one is packing a good deal!

This weekend the Death Korps are getting a nice boost with a new Combat Patrol. This is going to be an easy way to snag many of these miniatures in an easy to find box. Plus, it looks like a solid core to build from. We also know the typical price point of these Combat Patrols is $170. Now it’s time to do some basic math and figure out if this is a good value or not.

Death Korps of Krieg Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown

Contents

Krieg Command Squad $45

Krieg Heavy Weapons Squad $52

Death Riders $62.50

10x Death Korps of Krieg $52

Total Individual MSRP $211.50

Total Savings $41.50

Now that we’ve got the unit list and the total savings you can see that while it’s a discount, it’s not that crazy of a deal. The savings doesn’t even cover the cost of the Command Squad — but it is still $41.50 off the retail price if you bought all these individually. We saw a similar situation for the Drukhari Combat Patrol, too. That said, if I had to choose between the two, I’d certainly go with the Death Korps over the Drukhari. Why? It’s like I mentioned in that article: The Drukhari Combat Patrol is specialized towards the Haemonculi Covens. For me, that’s just not an appealing option. If that’s your thing, by all means go for it.

Having said that, I think the Death Korps of Krieg Combat Patrol is much more generalized. This box is leaning into the Death Korps units for sure but they are kind of the generalist options. A command squad, infantry squad, and heavy support are pretty universal for the Astra Militarum. The Death Riders is a nice thematic addition. But you could absolutely snag a copy of this box and expand your DK army however you want from there. You’d likely want to add a tank or two…but that’s going to be a personal preference.

Peat, Repeat, or No-Peat?

If you can’t tell by now I think this one as minimum a Peat and a possible Repeat (meaning you should snag one or two if you’re really looking to expand into a Death Korps of Krieg Army). Again, it’s going to depend on if you want to play this army outside of just Combat Patrol games. It also would make for an “okay” allied detachment if you just wanted to splash them in. I probably wouldn’t, but you do you. I think between this box and the other Astra Militarum Combat Patrol you’d have a pretty solid AM army going. But I also think if you wanted to stick with DK, then go for two boxes and expand from there.

I think the Engineers would probably make for a good option if you’re looking for more specialized Infantry, too. But, as always, snag the Codex first and take a look at all the DK options. There’s some solid ones in the mix for sure.

Between Lord Marshal Dreir and the really cool Artillery Teams, I’m sure you could create a very cool and cinematic DK army for the tabletop!

If you’re a Death Korps fan and are looking to expand or start, this box is a great way to do just that.
