It’s definitely one of the titles that fascinates me the most, and just a few hours ago, the release date was announced, along with the news that in just a few days, we’ll even get the chance to try it out.
Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast have announced the release date for Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, a digital tabletop RPG that combines the mechanics of Demeo with the world of Dungeons & Dragons and they also publish a demo during the Steam Next Fest of October.

The upcoming demo will feature two quests and four playable characters, giving players a chance to experience the mix of tactical, turn-based combat and cooperative play that defines Battlemarked.
The roster includes Bolthrax, a dragonborn paladin; Tibby, a halfling sorcerer; Jessix, a human ranger; and Ash, a tiefling rogue. Completing both quests in the demo unlocks exclusive cosmetic skins for the in-game 20-sided dice, which will carry over to the full game. At launch, two additional heroes will expand the roster: Tharok, a dwarf fighter, and Lyria, an elf bard.

Like Demeo, Battlemarked is designed as a digital tabletop RPG where players guide miniature-style characters across grid-based maps, rolling dice and choosing abilities during combat.
The setting is the Forgotten Realms, a core part of Dungeons & Dragons lore. Unlike traditional tabletop play, the game does not require a Dungeon Master. Instead, narrative progression and encounters are handled internally, with the focus placed on co-op tactics and streamlined storytelling. Up to four players can take part in a session, controlling different party members as they advance through a campaign.
The game builds on the structure of Resolution Games’ earlier title Demeo, which launched in 2021 and became known for its VR-friendly take on dungeon crawling.
While the earlier game presented an original fantasy setting, Battlemarked integrates the official Dungeons & Dragons license, allowing it to draw from familiar character classes, spells, and races.

Resolution Games has confirmed that the ruleset is simplified compared to pen-and-paper D&D, but the design aims to capture the feel of adventuring with a party of heroes, rolling dice, and facing unpredictable encounters.
Cross-platform support is planned, making it possible for players on PC, console, and VR devices to join the same session. The game’s interface adapts depending on platform: in VR, players will see the board and pieces in a tabletop environment, while standard PC and console players will use a more traditional top-down view.
Campaigns are divided into multiple quests, and the dice-driven combat introduces a level of unpredictability that demands adaptation from players. Each hero comes with their own abilities and role, encouraging coordination during battles.
Although details on post-launch content have not yet been announced, the structure suggests potential for expansions or new campaigns to extend the game’s lifespan.
The game will launch on November 20, 2025, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and Meta Quest headsets, priced at $29.99. Ahead of release, a demo will be available on Steam from October 13 to October 20 as part of Steam Next Fest, offering an early look at the first campaign. Below is the new trailer.
