SEGA and The Creative Assembly have announced Tides of Torment, the next major content pack for Total War: Warhammer III, launching on December 4, 2025. The release will coincide with the studio’s 25th Anniversary Showcase, a special event revealing the future of the Total War franchise.
The haunting announcement trailer sets the tone for a dark new chapter in Warhammer III, as new factions rise and old powers are tested. Fans can expect an infusion of new narrative content, faction mechanics, and brutal new units across the game’s sprawling Immortal Empires campaign.
Tides of Torment Brings Three Legendary Lords to the Battlefield
Tides of Torment introduces three powerful Legendary Lords, representing the High Elves, Slaanesh, and Norsca. Each Lord brings their own unique playstyle, mechanics, and campaign objectives, expanding the tactical and narrative possibilities of Warhammer III.
Players can unleash the maritime power of the High Elves, embrace the chaotic excess of Slaanesh, or channel the savage fury of Norsca. Combined with their new rosters and mechanics, these factions promise to shake up both single-player and multiplayer battles.
A Look Ahead: Total War’s Next Era
Coinciding with the DLC launch, The Creative Assembly will host a special 25th Anniversary Showcase on December 4, revealing new projects and what’s next for both Total War’s fantasy and historical series. The presentation will feature developer commentary, surprise reveals, and a glimpse at the franchise’s future direction.
Details on how to tune in will be shared on December 1 via official channels.
Free Content and Legacy Updates for All Players
Alongside Tides of Torment, Patch 7.0 introduces free content for all Warhammer III players. The Masque of Slaanesh joins as a new Legendary Lord, offering a fresh campaign experience for the seductive armies of Slaanesh.
The update also brings legacy improvements to the High Elves, Slaanesh, and Norsca factions, revisiting earlier campaigns with new mechanics and refinements.
With new content, a major free update, and a milestone showcase all arriving on the same day, December 4 marks one of the biggest moments in Total War history, past, present, and future.
