Dungeons and Dragons inspires new table beer

January 20, 2026

Edinburgh’s Closet Brewing and RPG Taverns have teamed up to launch Tabletop, a one-off beer inspired by the popular role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons.

Closet Tabletop

Tabletop is a 3.2% ABV table beer, designed to be light, refreshing, and highly sessionable. D&D games can last beyond three hours, so a beer that can be enjoyed over a long time is seen as the perfect pairing.

The collaboration beer is available UK-wide and online.

The label artwork for Tabletop was created by Orion, a queer, neurodivergent, trans Edinburgh-based designer and tattoo artist. A lifelong D&D fan known for illustrating “weird little creatures”, Orion was particularly excited to bring the concept of a “biblically accurate D20” to life for the can design.

Closet Brewing is run by two queer women (and their tiny dog) and is known for vegan beers and a playful approach to brewing. RPG Taverns, based in Elephant & Castle, has built a reputation as one of London’s most distinctive social spaces, blending fantasy worlds with real-world connection through D&D and tabletop play.

“I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop RPGs since I was a kid, and I’m a massive fan of the community RPG Taverns are building in London,” said Lucy Stevens, head brewer and director at Closet Brewing.

“They’ve supported us since the early days of Closet, so we leapt at the chance to work together, not just on creating a great, super-sessionable beer, but also the opportunity to run a one-of-a-kind D&D adventure. At its heart, this collaboration is about doing cool things and having a lot of fun, which is absolutely at the core of our mission.”

Josh Saco, co-owner of RPG Taverns, added: “Collaborating with Closet Brewing felt like a natural fit. They’re creative, share many of our values around community, and are unafraid to do things differently. I’m really happy to bring Tabletop to our own community and celebrate the joy of boardgames together.”
