Games Workshop Rumor Engine: Imperial Rosarius?

October 21, 2025

Is this an Imperial Rosarius or are we looking at a medal from Age of Sigmar? Time to dive into this new Rumor Engine!

Welcome to a brand new Tuesday Rumor Engine. Today’s image is pretty clear — at least when you first look at it. Clearly, that’s a Rosarius. Right? Hmm…maybe we need to slow down and take a closer look.

“Rats… we already made a joke about grabbing things last week, and now we’re looking at a hand? We’re sure there’s an idiom in there about waiting for buses. Either way, check it out – a hand, holding something.”

Rumor Engine – Imperial Rosarius?

My gut instinct was that this is a part of the standard Space Marine Chaplain Wargear. The Rosarius is an amulet that has a conversion field generator inside. Typically, the Rosarius comes as either an Aquilia or a stylized cross.

There’s loads more examples of various Space Marine Chaplains with the Rosarius but there are also other members of the Imperium that have them, too. That said, I keep going back to the other details. That fist, for instance, could be power armor. But it could also be some other knight in armor holding a cross with a skull. Not to mention the fur(?) that’s also in the image.

I’m not ruling out this one being from the Mortal Realms is all I’m saying. Skulls and Warhammer go together in many, many ways. I’m just not sure where the fur comes in at with this image. Maybe its a Space Wolf. Or what if it’s a Chaos Marine that’s gotten there hand on one?

Anyhow, I think we can rule out all of the Xenos races and non-humanoid factions in Warhammer. That still leaves quite a few. So this is where I turn it over to you! If you’ve got any ideas on what this could be drop us a line in the comments. I just hope it’s not another Space Marine Lieutenant. We’re good on those, right?

I got to HAND it to the Rumor Engine on this one…
