We’ve got a new Games Workshop Rumor Engine and someone has done a very tidy job with this trophy skull.
Welcome to another Tuesday! You know what that means — Rumor Engine time. This one from Games Workshop is another one of those teases that could really go in a lot of directions. But you’ve read the title already so let’s see what we’re working with.
“Just the one skull, but never mind that – whoever strapped it onto their belt did a bang-up job keeping everything tidy, including the extremely specific-looking blade hanging there.”
Rumor Engine – Tidy Skull
Anytime we get a skull in the image my first guess is a leap to Chaos. Khorne specifically. In this case, I’m not entirely sure that’s right…but it’s a start.
The curious thing is that the Blades of Khorne are getting a new Battletome soon. So I don’t think that this teaser is going to line up with that release. And, as the text points out, that is an “extremely specific-looking blade” as well. Not only that, that chainmail armor looks really neat and untarnished, too. But I wonder if it’s on someone’s belt or perhaps on a mount.
Perhaps it’s a new Freeguild member. Do they still have Amethyst wizards? I’ve been wondering about that one for a bit. That would explain the blade and the neatly tied skull, wouldn’t it? Then again, I don’t know if the wizards would be wearing chainmail.
Another faction that wears a chainmail is the Chaos side of the house. I know I mentioned Khorne, but I was thinking more about the “generic” Chaos followers. Perhaps this in new Chaos Undivided wizard/sorcerer who’s all geared up and looking to do some bad.
I also haven’t even touched the 40k side of things…So this is where I’m going to toss it over to you. If you’ve got any ideas of what this Rumor Engine is teasing let us know in the comments!
Well, I think we can at least rule out a Space Marine Lieutenant for this one.
