Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist: Imperial Knights Armylist – Canis & His Sisters

September 12, 2025

Today we are putting together a new Codex Imperial Knights armylist using Canis Rex and some of his Battle Sisters.

Goatboy here with a new 10th Edition Codex Imperial Knights army list using the new points for the new book.  It is a pretty big shift from the old Index army with a removal of the old Detachment and major changes to the big knights.  I still think you almost take the same thing as the powerful things still stay powerful – just toned down a bit.  Let’s throw some things together and get a list built out for the new army.

Putting the IK List Together

We’ll start with the Ally section as that seems to be a good place to gain some powerful friends.  The current go to seems to be Sisters of Battle and utilizing a single unit with a Immolater.  This gives us basically 2 units that can sticky objectives and two tank bodies to help hold objectives or block lanes off.

Allies
Sisters of Battle Squad X 10 – 115pts
Sisters of Battle Immolater – 115pts

Total – 230pts

From there we go the normal route of good knights to add to the army.  We’ll go with three big guys and fill out the Armigers from there.  It is pretty easy to just pick Canis as he is still good and a bully on the table top.

Canis – 415pts
Knight Defender – 425pts
Knight Errant- 375pts

Total – 1215pts

This leaves us with 555 points for Enhancements and Arimger friends.  I’ll go with the Warglaive as it feels to be one of the better ones with this.  It gives us some damage options, a good body, and some speed as needed.  Plus it can get some of the Bondsman ability to do some fun stuff.  Going with three of them still leaves us some points to work with Enhancements.

Armiger Warglaive – 140pts
Armiger Warglaive – 140pts
Armiger Warglaive – 140pts

Total – 420pts

From here we got to think what Detachment are we going to use.  I don’t think will do the Spearhead-At-Arms as I am not messing with a ton of Armigers.  Let’s go with the Questoris Companions as I feel its Stratagem suite is really good. You have the ability to get Feel No Pain, Advance/Charge, Fallback/Shoot/Charge, +1 to hit/wound versus monsters/vehicles/Titanic, and even a sticky objective ability for your Titanic models to do.  I think overall the rules of gaining more Oath Abilities and repowering up your Enhancements seem good.

I will most likely use one of them with the Crushing Condemnation going on the Errant.  It gives you a sorta 12″ grenade when you destroy something in the fight phase and basically throws that damage at someone nearby.  It seems fun and would leave us some points to get a Callidus Assassin for the army.

Let’s write it all out real quick so you can see it.

Imperial Knights – Canis & His Sisters Tactics

I added an extra enhancement as I had points left over.  It lets the unit reroll hit rolls versus things that can fly.  It sounds pretty fun at shooting Mortarion or anything like those pesky Aeldari tanks.  Overall it feels like a pretty simple armylist that is going to be pushing the use of CP pretty hard and a few big bully units that can get close.  It has some basic scoring it can do and some things that like the Bondsman ability.

For the Emperor!
