Necromunda: Ashwing Helamite Swoops In For The Ash Waste Nomads

July 28, 2025

It’s time for a brand new bug in the Ash Wastes of Necromunda. Meet the insectoid pet that is the Ashwing Helamite!

I hope you’ve got a big can of bug spray. Or a massive fly swatter. You’re going to need them if you’re travelling the Ash Wastes because the Nomads have a few new “pets” buzzing around. Say hello to the Ashwing Helamites.

We’ve met the Dustback Helamites, the Arthromite Duneskuttler, and even the adorable Arthromite Spinewyrms – and buzzing above us right now are the Ashwing Helamites.

The Nomads use them as guard creatures for their claims and camps. Smaller and less docile than the Dustbacks used as mounts, these macro-insects are controlled using lures thrown by their handlers.

I feel like Papa Nurgle would LOVE these things. These big flies are going to cause problems for a lot of gangs just because of their size. They swarm and bite with toxic mandibles. You do NOT want to let them get close. Luckily promethium will do the trick — bring a flamer, folks!

“You get two Ashwing Helamites in the box, as well as a token for the lure and an optional head and sky mantle complete with Ashwing Lure to mark one of your Nomads out as their handler. “

Yep, you read that right. The box doesn’t just come with two Ashwing Helamites, you also get some “upgrades” for the Nomad kit. They have the bits you need to build a handler out of an Ash Waste Nomad.

And now for some more good news: This will be a plastic kit! The Ashwing Helamites are going to come with flying stands and will have scenic base toppers, too. You can opt for them to be on the base or flying — you’ve got options. Their rules can be found in the Tribes of the Wasteland book for Necromunda.

No transports are safe from the buzzing wings of the Ashwing Helamites!
