Space Marine 2 Unveils A Packed Year 2 Roadmap, Including A New Playable Class

August 29, 2025

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is fast approaching its 12-month anniversary – delivering the Emperor’s justice for close to an entire year.

In that short time, the crew behind the game have delivered no less than nine major updates – chock full of cosmetics, gameplay enhancements and new delightful content that either explodes enemies or is an enemy ready to be exploded.

And now, a post on the Warhammer Community website is happy to announce that the very start of September will see the kickoff of an entire second year of content for the game:

The vast majority of the details are simply based around what kind of content is planned for that particular period of time, such as new PvE missions and evolving player conditions – It’s a general roadmap, not a dissectible list of specific details, after all – but the generous offering of at least a new mission each quarter with a new playable class coming at the start of the year is fantastic.

In the meantime, the next patch for the game will be Patch 10 and with it comes a hearty amount of new fun – including:

  • THREE New Weapons
    • The Pyreblaster
    • The Pyrecannon
    • A Power Axe(!!!)
  • A new Operations PvE Mission
  • A new PvP gamemode (with playable Helbrute)
  • A FREE Chaos Armour Pack, to dress up your heretical PvP friends
  • PvE Stratagems (PvE Modifiers that refresh both daily and weekly)
  • New “Accolades” currency
  • New Majoris Enemy: Chaos Spawn
  • Black Templars Champion Pack
  • Imperial Fists Champion Pack

It’s a bonkers amount of stuff that is incoming, but what better way to celebrate an impending birthday than with a ton of party favours.

It’s awesome to see the game get the support it deserves, for an actually measurable amount of time. Of late it feels like we are seeing games fade away in record time, as higher-ups pull the plug and deem the developers attention better suited elsewhere. In the case of Space Marine 2, we have a great example of a well received game developing a dedicated audience – with both developers and players enjoying the ongoing relationship.

Brings a tear to my power-armoured eye.

Here’s to another incredible year of Space Marine 2. I need that Techmarine class immediately.
