Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be celebrating its first anniversary next week, and there are some big additions coming to the game to kick off its second year.
Focus Entertainment and Games Workshop have announced that Patch 10, the anniversary update, will be launching next week on September 4, bringing some long-awaited PvP mode updates and new weapons for free.
September 4 will also mark the official start of the game’s second year of content, with a new season pass to go with it, bringing a wide array of new cosmetics to better let players represent their Space Marine Chapter of choice.
There’s also a roadmap laying out what to expect by the end of 2025 and throughout 2026, up to Patch 15.
New Modes, New Weapons, New Class
Patch 10 will add a lot to Space Marine 2, with a new PvP mode and arena, new missions and mode for PvE players, a new boss fight against a twisted, monstrous Chaos Spawn, and new cosmetics themed after the Chaos Space Marine Legions.
The new PvP mode is called Helbrute Onslaught, a successor to the previous game’s Dreadnought Assault mode where players will have the opportunity to control a Helbrute, the corrupted Chaos version of the Space Marines’ walking sarcophagus Dreadnoughts.
It will also introduce the new PvE mode called Stratagems, which will also be updated as the second year goes on, and new weapons to torch, vaporize, and slice up the enemies of the Imperium.
Going forward, early next year, the game will see the addition of the new Techmarine class and its Omnissiah Axe, expansions to the battle barge, and more new bosses like the Mutalith Vortex Beast, along with more new missions, PvP arenas, and additions to the Siege mode.
The second season pass will also launch on September 4, and with it, the Black Templars Champion Pack and Imperial Fists Cosmetic Pack.
Future content coming to the pass includes the Salamanders, Carcharodons, and Raptors Cosmetic Packs, the Iron Hands Chapter Pack, and Champion Packs for the Blood Angels, Raven Guard, and one more that hasn’t been revealed just yet.
Like with the first season pass, all the paid content in the second year will also be available individually for those who haven’t purchased the full pass.
Space Marine 2 is showing no signs of slowing down going into its second year, propelled by its incredible sales that shattered expectations, even as Saber Interactive is also working on developing Space Marine 3.
