Creative Assembly has delayed the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC, Tides of Torment, which was originally expected to launch this summer. The new release window is now set for later this year.
The news was shared on Creative Assembly’s official site, where head of community Adam Freeman said the DLC didn’t meet the quality standards set by recent updates. “We asked ourselves if this next DLC met the standards that we’ve set in recent releases, and the short answer was no,” Freeman explained. The team is now taking more time to refine gameplay and polish the experience.
Freeman also confirmed that the studio’s earlier What’s Next video, which featured the Slaanesh and Norsca factions, is no longer accurate.
Alongside the DLC delay, Creative Assembly outlined its update roadmap for the next few months:
July
- Siege improvements are coming to Proving Grounds and will enter public testing by the end of the month.
August
- Update 6.3 will include quality-of-life improvements for the Tomb Kings and Lizardmen. Some Orcs and Goblins skills will also be refreshed to bring them in line with modern design standards.
September
- Hotfixes for issues introduced in the 6.3 update.
Total War: Warhammer 3 was originally planned to launch in 2021 but was delayed to 2022. At the time, fans reacted positively to the delay, showing more patience than usual for a major title.
Creative Assembly has not yet announced a new date for Tides of Torment.
