Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios have released a playable demo for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, giving players their first hands-on experience with the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 turn-based tactical hit.
Play as Both Factions in the Prologue
For the very first time, players can step into the opening prologue of the game and command both sides of the war:
- Adeptus Mechanicus – Rally the disciples of the Omnissiah as they struggle against the rising threat of an ancient Necron tomb world.
- Necrons – Lead the awakening of a forgotten dynasty, bringing mechanical death back to the galaxy.
This dual perspective lets fans witness the conflict from both angles, adding depth to the grimdark narrative.
Expanded Strategy and New Mechanics
The sequel builds upon the original’s acclaimed tactics with:
- Larger Unit Rosters – Assemble forces from a vastly expanded selection of fighters for each mission.
- Environmental Mechanics – Terrain plays a more critical role than ever. Use it to your advantage as the Mechanicus to secure cover, or obliterate it as the Necrons to deny the enemy protection.
- Faction Strengths and Weaknesses – Each side has unique tools and strategies, challenging players to adapt their approach depending on who they lead.
