One year on from its brutal and celebrated launch, the war is escalating.
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are today deploying the colossal Anniversary Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
This represents the single largest free content drop for the game to date, arriving alongside the kick-off of Year 2 and the release of the first cosmetic packs from the brand-new Season Pass II.
This battle-barge-sized shipment of content is available right now for all players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, reinforcing the front lines with new modes, missions, enemies, and much more.
A Year of War: The FREE Anniversary Update
This is far more than a simple patch; the Anniversary Update is a massive injection of new content, available to every single player at no cost, touching every aspect of the game.
Two completely new game modes have been introduced, offering fresh challenges for both PvE and PvP players:
- New PvE Mode “Stratagems”: This new mode introduces daily and weekly gameplay modifiers to your co-op missions, adding new layers of strategy and replayability.
- New PvP Mode “Helbrute Onslaught”: The ultimate battlefield game-changer has arrived. In this mode, players can take control of a monstrous, playable Helbrute to wreak havoc on the enemy team.
Expanding the Battlefield
The war for Avarax and beyond grows with new locations, missions, and a terrifying new boss to overcome:
- New Operation “Vortex”: A brand-new PvE mission that culminates in a battle against the fearsome new Mutalith Vortex Beast.
- New PvP Arena “Bridge”: A new map set on the world of Avarax provides a fresh arena for your Eternal War clashes.
An Expanded Arsenal
Three new weapons and several new variants are now available to add to your loadout: the fiery Pyreblaster and Pyrecannon, the brutal Power Axe, and new unlockable variants like the Xenophase Blade, Combi Melta, and a double-edged Chainsword.
You’ll need them to face the new Majoris enemy: the Chaos Spawn, which arrives in three unique and horrifying variants.
Sons of Dorn and Templar Zealots Arrive in Season Pass II
Kicking off Year 2 is the launch of Season Pass II, which will bring a host of new Chapter-inspired cosmetics to the game. The first two packs are available today:
- Black Templars Champion Pack: Includes a new Champion skin for the Bulwark class and a unique Power Sword skin, perfect for purging the unclean with righteous zeal.
- Imperial Fists Cosmetic Pack: The Sons of Rogal Dorn are renowned for their fortitude. This pack includes over 40 new cosmetics and heraldry markings celebrating seven of the Imperial Fists’ Successor Chapters.
