Warhammer 40K Next Week: Leagues Of Votann, Salamanders (With Vulkan) And Chaos

August 3, 2025

What a week for space dwarves, as the Leagues of Vtann get a new Codex, character, vehicle, and more as part of next week’s pre-orders.

Space dwarves, abominable intelligences, and a whole lot more feature in next week’s pre-orders as the League of Votann get a brand new codex and accompanying miniature release. With a new hover vehicle, new robots that are probably heretical if you look too close, and of course, the legendary Buri Aegnirssen, sole survivor of a Tyranid hive-fleet attack. But there’s more than just the Votann, as you’ll see next week!

Leagues of Votann

And it all kicks off with a new Leagues of Votann Codex. Inside you’ll find a total of 21 datasheets and rules for five Detachments, as well as the new Prioritised Efficiency army rule. You also get a new Combat patrol, Crusade rules, and all the other art and lore you’d expect from a 144 page codex.

The real star of the show, though, is Buri Aegnirssen. He is the 40K equivalent of a Slayer, so to speak. He’s the sole survivor of an attack by Hive Fleet Leviathan, when they destroyed the Emberg-Aegnir Bloc. Now he hunts down Tyranids wherever they may show up, wielding the darkstar glaive known as Bane. So dedicated to revenge is he, that he’ll come back from the dead, even, if need be.

But it’s not all scarred and vengeance-crazed lone operatives this week. There’s also a ton of support for the Leagues of Votan. Take the new Arkanyst Evaluator, an extreme representative of the Science Guild, who use experimental weaponry to great effect. Even if sometimes that great effect is friendly fire.

The Memnyr Strategist is…safer? Well. They’re the first Ironkin model. And they use a kognitaar mantle to enhance their already enhanced intelligence, making them a dangerous thinker and a tactical threat to any who get between them and their objectives.

The Memnyr Strategist is especially adept at commanding the Ironkin Steeljacks. These abominable intelligences are the kinds of machine intelligence that the AdMech have heretical dreams about creating. They truly have no weaknesses of the flesh. But they do have autoch pattern bolters and plasma swords or heavy volkanite disintegrator.

Or roll out the Cthonian Earthshakers and unleash subterranean artillery upon your foes. This is a terrifying prospect, Especially since the Ironkin can switch between ammo types, so they can take out whatever targets they set their sights on.

The Kapricus is somewhere between a Land speeder and an Ork Trukk. With rollbars and magna-rail cannon or HYLas rotary cannon mounted on a turret, and twin magnacoil autocannons, it can dole out damage from afar, or it can be built as a lighter armed carrier, which can take up to five Yaegirs into close-range combat.

Finally a Leagues of Votann Combat Patrol box will give you the Bane-slayer’s Bulwark. Inside you’ll find Vynn Bane-slayer himself, an Einhyr Champion, leading five Einhyr Hearthguard, three Brokhyr Thunderkyn, and ten Hearthkyn Warriors.

Salamanders And Chaos

While the Leagues of Votann are front and center, they aren’t the only ones out there. You can also pick up Vulkan He’stan, the Forgefather himself, with a shiny new miniature. Equipped with bolt pistol, Gauntlet of the Forge, and Spear of Vulkan, he is sure to ruin anyone’s day on the battlefield.

While we’re at it, pick up the new Salamanders Combat Patrol box, the Pyroclasm Assault Force, and snap up Adrax Agatone, an Invader ATV, three Eradicators, five Assault Intercessors, and ten Infernus Marines. Just enough to get you started.

Chaos, as ever, creeps in at the corners. And now, free from the big box, the new World Eaters Slaughterbound miniature is available as a standalone mini.

As is the Death Guard Lord of Poxes. Both champions of Chaos have their own dark powers that make them deadly threats.

All this, next week!
